Join us Sat., Sept 17th at 6:45PM for our special end of summer Getting-to-Know You event. We'll picnic on the lawn and watch the performance of The Mystery of Edwin Drood. This wildly warm-hearted musical kicks off when the Music Hall Royale (a hilariously loony Victorian musical troupe) 'puts on' its flamboyant rendition of the unfinished Charles Dickens mystery in The Mystery of Edwin Drood. The story unfolds a s John Jasper, a Jekyll-and-Hyde choirmaster who is quite madly in love with his music student, the fair Miss Rosa Bud. No, Miss Bud is, in turn, engaged to Jasper's nephew, young Edwin Drood. The title character disappears mysteriously one stormy Christmas Eve - but has Edwin Drood meen murdered? And if so, then whodunnit? The giddy playfulness of the play-within-a-play allows YOU, the audience to vote on one of several hilarious endings. !
Tickets are $15.95 in advance//$20 at the gate. Children under 5 are free. Get your tickets at: http://www.supersummertheatre.org/tickets/

***Update: LV WORCS found a new location on campus for our presentation. You'll find us at the Houssels House AKA the Center for Social Justice (CSJ) building - same date & time. Park in the adjacent Z Lot or any available metered parking.***
LV WORCS has invited One Equal Share to come out and talk about Time Exchange. Dennis Palmerston and Leslie Morpeth will be there to share the story of how Time Exchange is growing across the country, what it can do for us in Las Vegas, and how anyone can get involved. We'll be at: UNLV, in the Student Recrecation and Wellness Center Bldg, Rm 1010 at 6PM on Monday, May 9th (see: http:/www.unlv.edu/maps/campus/RWC ) We'll plan on about an hour, but are happy to stay longer to answer any additional questions. If you'd like to know about Time Exchange, join us. It's FREE.
Several of our members liked the idea of getting together for one of Vegas' Super Summer Theater performances at Spring Mountain Ranch, so here we go...
Mark your calendar and plan to join us for Lend Me a Tenor - Saturday, Sept 19th. Tickets are available online starting in May. Prices are $12.95 in advance (Show Tickets) or $20 at the gate. Children under age 5 are free. Bring a picnic to share or buy from the reasonably priced concessions. Note that there are separate seating areas for those who bring blankets and those who bring folding chairs (and low chairs are recommended).
Who should see Lend Me a Tenor?
The play is a classic farce that wins big laughs from mistaken identity, mixed signals, misunderstandings, and comedic suprises. It's great for a multi-generational outing. Originally produced on Broadway in 1989.
Is it good for kids?
The play has some harmlessly suggestive elements (2 female characters end up in undergarments during a comic seduction scene), but overall, the play is harmless fun. If your school-age child has a taste for slapstick comedy, Lend Me a Tenor may be just the ticket.
As we get closer to the date we'll try to arrange for carpooling for members coming from different parts of town. For those wanting to get there on their own the ranch and theatre are located at: Spring Mountain Ranch 15 miles west of Las Vegas, via Blue Diamond Rd., in the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area: Blue Diamond, NV 89004, Phone: 702.875.4141. Note: it is usually 10-15 degrees cooler at the ranch than in the Las Vegas Valley.
* * Be sure to RSVP to Info@1EqualShare.com so we know how big a space to carve out, and let us know whether you plan to be in the chairs or blanket area and if you want to be part of a carpool.
